Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. [2][3] Her early work has been described as going beyond "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop,[4] and has incorporated influences from electronic music hip-hop, and rock. Her lyrics often touch on gender issues and science fiction. Five albums have come out. Grimes was born and raised in Vancouver, and then moved to Montreal in 2000. Grimes started releasing her music as a solo act in the early 2000s. two albums came out by Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa during 2010. After joining 4AD the band gained the charts through Visions, her third studio album. Visions features the singles "Genesis", and "Oblivion" that earned them an award called the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, came out in the year 2015. Numerous publications praised it as the most successful album. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Outside of the music industry, Grimes had a voice part in the online action-role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge for the music competition game show Alter Ego.
